AAUW Mariposa invites community members to commemorate Women’s History Month at a fun, inspiring event, “Women's HerStories: A Celebration of Progress,” on Saturday, March 15th, from 3 - 5 pm at The Grove House in Mariposa. Hosted by AAUW Mariposa, the Mariposa County Library, and The Grove House, the event is an informal gathering to recognize that “we’ve come a long way, baby.” Come and enjoy a short film, live music with a feminist vibe, books and tales of the pioneering women of yesterday and today, and resources that chronicle the history of the women’s movement. Be sure to bring a personal “HerStory” to share during open mic and get excited to win a prize in a competition about trailblazing women. There is no charge for the event. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
“Women’s HerStories” is one of several community programs offered by Mariposa AAUW, a branch of the nearly 150-year-old national AAUW (American Association of University Women) dedicated to advancing equity for women and girls.
